    Itinerary

The northern lake area is less visited because it is not rich with villas and VIP gossip stories. It is however an area of great beauty, popular among watersports lovers thanks to the winds and definitely scenic.

During this long afternoon tour, our private watertaxi will cruise you to the northern lake and introduce you to some of its unique attractions. Our expert tour guide will be there to enrich your experience with local tips which you will love to hear!

You will meet our tour guide and private watertaxi at the pier nearest to you: we will be able to pick you up in Bellagio, Varenna, Tremezzo, Menaggio and other towns in the mid lake area.

Enjoy a cruise in front of the fascinating town of Varenna: the ideal location to take beautiful pictures. Cruise north along the shore to reach Bellano, a small town well-known to locals: walk along its narrow streets and stop to visit its natural gorge, called Orrido in Italian. Believe us, it will be amazing!

Thereafter you will head north along the shore, admiring the beautiful medieval town of Corenno Plinio and optionally stopping to visit the Piona Abbey, a Cistercian priory famous for its beautiful Romanesque cloister of the 13th century.

Our watertaxi will then cross to the opposite shore of Lake Como to reach Dongo, where you may choose to stop and visit the End of WWII Museum: an interesting and never boring collection of images and memories, supported by advanced multimedia technology, allowing visitors to virtually step into history. Dongo is the place where Mussolini and his hierarchs were captured in 1945 while trying to flee to Switzerland: local partisans were the ones to choose whether killing them or handing them over to the allies… Hear the rest of the story from our tour guide during the visit.

While cruising south along the shore, we will encounter the local Museum of local Vintage Boats, showcasing a huge number of local traditional boats from Venetian gondolas (yes!) to the famous Riva wooden boats: celebrating living on Lake Como through the centuries through the boats used by locals.

Our watertaxi will then transfer you back to departure location.

Due to the 5 hour limit, we will stop in Bellano and then let you choose one further stop among the Abbey, the End of War Museum and the Boat Museum. If you wish to tailor make this tour adding more stops, just let us know!
